I am interested in becoming a Single. What do I do?
Interested singles must preregister for the mandatory informational meeting for all singles, scheduled for Thurs., January 11, at the Ft. Collins Hilton Hotel located on Prospect Road at Centre Ave. You can preregister online: From our Home Page, select "Click here for more information" and then click the "Be a Single for Auction" button. Complete the information form, which will be emailed to JimSaulnier100@hotmail.com. You may also contact Jim directly at 970-217-8614 for more information. Even if you have missed the informational meeting, please contact us just the same as we may have an opening for singles if someone has dropped out.

I am interested in nominating a friend or family member to be auctioned. What do I do?
A. From our Home Page, select "Click Here for More Information", then click on the "Be a Single for Auction" button. Fill out the form for your friend or family member and indicate on the form that you have nominated this person and provide your email address. The form will be emailed to JimSaulnier100@hotmail.com

I am married--is this event for me?
Yes! The singles auction is a formal evening of fun, prizes and there will be great date packages to be auctioned. Plus the proceeds benefit two outstanding local charities.

What if I am selected as a Single and no one buys me?
Good News! In the past five years we have auctioned more than 90 Singles and every Single was sold. Last year we had over 350 people attend the auction and everyone had a great time!

How much is this going to cost me if I am a Single being auctioned?
Most of our Singles pay NOTHING!
Every Single to be auctioned will be assigned a volunteer to assist the single in selecting a date package and getting local businesses to donate items for this worthy cause.

If I am selected, what will I have to do to put my date package together?
We highly recommend that you select a date package that is part of your personality and comprised of things you like to do. Each Single will need to have his or her date package completely selected by February 4, 2008. We encourage you to select a date and time for your date package so that you know exactly when the date will take place. The date package must be at least a $200 value. As examples, in the past our singles have selected date packages including but not limited to such things as a hot air balloon ride, skiing trip, or a limousine ride to Black Hawk casino.

If I am a Single to be auctioned, how much privacy will I have regarding my identity such as my full name and phone number?
You will not need to give your full name or phone number to the person who buys your date package. Our promotional materials, including our web site and Single profiles and auction program, will not provide your full name and phone number. After your date package has been purchased, you will be able to maintain your privacy by obtaining the name and phone number of the person who purchased your package on the night of the auction. In addition, you may even be able to make arrangements to meet for the date on the night of auction, if you have a date package selected that has a specific date and time for your date, thus avoiding having to give your full name or phone number at that point in time.

How much of a time commitment is involved if I am selected as a Single?
You will need to select a date package, attend the auction on February 15, 2008 and go on your date. A Horsetooth Sertoma volunteer will be assigned to check in with you as you select and solicit donations for your date package. You will also need to provide a picture of yourself and complete a personal singles profile for the auction. This event is a team effort by many volunteers and we raised over $19,000 last year! And, as an added incentive to our bachelors and bachelorettes, a special prize will be awarded the Single who is sold to the highest bidder!

What if I don't like the person who buys me?
This is possible, however, we strongly encourage you to select a date package that you like, so you will be doing something you enjoy on the date. Remember, it is not likely you will find your "soul mate" in this event; however, 100% of the profits from this event will support three worthy local charities.

Horsetooth Sertoma is a co-ed service club made up of service-minded, fun professionals.
